Dear parent or guardian please let this serve as a reminder that you should not share personal or financial information over the phone with unsolicited callers. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately. We are sending this reminder because parents and/or guardians of children who have recently taken an SAT or PSAT exam have been receiving scam calls requesting personal information, including a credit card number, to mail the test results. Additional tips about how to protect yourself from SAT test-related scams can be found on the Better Business Bureau website and below: Always be wary of unsolicited callers: If you receive a random call from someone asking for payment, research their organization before sharing any personal information. Double check with your child: If someone claims they're calling because of a service your child requested, hang up and check with your child first. Understand the College Board's practices: The College Board will never ask you for your bank or credit card information over the phone or through email. Don't give your financial information to strangers: Never agree to pay a stranger with any form of payment for a purchase you didn't initiate.

Brushton- Moira Central School recognizes National School Bus Safety Week School bus safety reminder: While school bus safety is important year-round, National School Bus Safety Week, from October 21-25, 2024, is a good time to remind drivers of the importance of slowing down and being aware of school buses in their communities. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is urging all drivers to slow down and be aware of school buses in their communities. Although school buses are one of the safest modes of transportation, injuries and fatalities do occur outside of or near the buses. Most often, these tragedies occur because a motorist has failed to slow down and obey the bus’s stop sign, or to follow local traffic laws. Nationally, school bus passing is illegal and it is a deadly risk to bus riders and their caretakers. Drivers should always come to a complete stop when a school bus stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing.

Our 2024 Big Apple Crunch was a success! Approximately 900 apples were crunched at the same time in our back field, celebrating local apples and our Farm to School initiative. Justin Robinson kindly donated his time (and drone!) for pictures and videos and we also made a short slideshow of staff pictures. See the links below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8VLtSdYBgM https://youtu.be/sT_hQmM3jgI

Good afternoon, This afternoon, at approximately 1:08 p.m., we instituted a shelter-in-place due to a student experiencing a medical emergency. The situation was handled promptly, and the student received the necessary care. The shelter-in-place was lifted at approximately 1:25 p.m. We greatly appreciate the quick response from both students and staff, as well as their adherence to our safety procedures. Everyone did an excellent job. Thank you, BMC Administration

The Big Apple Crunch takes place every year in the month of October. This is the second year BMC is participating in this state-wide event. All together on Friday morning our students will take a bite out of an apple grown in NYS to celebrate our apple harvest and to inspire us to eat local. This event is brought to our district by the Farm to School committee.
