The BMC Advisory groups are looking for pumpkins for a decorating contest. If anyone is interested in donating a pumpkin or two, we are looking for each to be approximately the size of a basketball. We will need about 40 of them to accommodate each of our Advisory groups. Each group will decorate their pumpkin according to the contest rules and a winner will be declared once voted upon by the student body. Pumpkins can be dropped off by the BMC Shop Doors, #13. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Lynch, High School Principal. Thank you!

Red Ribbon Week

People across the state take a bite out of an apple grown in NYS to celebrate our apple harvest and to inspire us to eat local. This event is brought to our district by the Farm to School committee.

We are participating in the Big Apple Crunch on Thursday 10/19 and that we would love to have the elementary students wear red and the high school students wear black for our photo. The Big Apple Crunch takes place every year in the month of October.

Senior Nights quickly approach fall athletes
By Panther Press Staff
It is an exciting time for Panther Athletics and it isn’t because playoffs are almost here. Fifteen fall athletes will wrap up their home careers in the upcoming week.
Boys Varsity Soccer will face the Chateaugay Bulldogs on Oct. 16 with senior ceremonies beginning at 3:45pm. Senior teammates include D. Baker, J. Gagnon, G. Halavin, K. Langdon, and L. Reome. They request that all fans wear black to show BMC support.
Girls Varsity Soccer will face the Tupper Lake Lady Jacks on Oct. 19. Their Senior Night tradition will start at 3:45pm. Soccer seniors include H. Aguirre, E. Huskins, S. Mayville, M. McCray, and K. Phelan.
Varsity Volleyball athletes will also face Chateaugay on Oct. 19 with senior recognition commencing at 5:45pm. The solo senior retiring will be S. Clookey.
Both Lady Panther teams request that fans wear school apparel to show support.
In addition to these Senior Nights, six cross country seniors will compete in their last home meet on Oct. 17. Races will commence at 4pm. Senior racers include N. Besio-Melech, I. Childs, O. Cotten, B. Lennox, D. McCaffrey, and C. Smith. Show your support by cheering on these athletes at their finish line.
Seniors share conflicting feelings as their final seasons come to a close.
Phelan is feeling proudly reminiscent of her achievements throughout the years, “Being a senior athlete is a very bittersweet, but accomplished feeling.”
On the other hand, Gagnon, Panther goalie, is excited to hand down the torch, sharing that he is “ready to let someone else shine.”
Clookey looks toward her final home match with a sentiment that the entire graduating group likely shares, “We have to win.”
